I am dating someone that has been diagnosed as bi-polar.

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I am dating someone that has been diagnosed as bi-polar. I have educated myself through reading on the web, and books so that I understand him a little better. How can I better our relationship through communicating to him when I don't like something that he does, knowing that this behavior is stemmed from his mental state of mind without creating an argument or a what-ever attitude.

RomanceClass.com Advice
First off, there will be a lot of compromises you will have to make. If you make them, I salute you.

In terms of his behavior, wait until a calm moment to discuss. You might want to ask him if he can ask his therapist for coping techniques.

If he won't do any of the above or goes off his meds, you may want to rethink your commitment.
