Recovering from a Bad Breakup

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I was burnt really badly a while back, and now every time I start getting to know a male I just can't let my guard down. It's like I find it almost impossible to love and trust any male.

I realise that I need to let go of my past but I just don't know how. When love hurts it scars forever.

How can I proceed with my life and learn to let love in again?

RomanceClass.com Advice
You say that love scars forever when it's bad. But that's hardly true! We all go through all sorts of pains in life. That's how life is! There is good and bad. Undoubtedly there are trillions of things that "went wrong" in your childhood that at the time seemed hugely important. There were things that you screamed and ranted about. But now you don't remember them at all. Time heals all wounds.

We all get betrayed. We all have things go wrong! And one of the most important lessons in life is that we pick ourselves up off the ground and keep going. Life isn't a day of roses and wine. Life is about ups and downs, bads and goods. We deal with the bads, we enjoy the goods.

and get through the sad parts. And then get ready to trust and love again. You have to take that next step, to trust a person. It's well worth it, and you'll find that the love you DO find will be far better than any old memories of pain.
