Starting a conversation?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
There's this guy I know and we've known each other since 6th grade. Now we're in eight. We never really talked but we shared many mutual friends. Then we started texting each other but really all we do is play "would u rather" or other games like that.

So one day I told him we should just try talking but now I don't know what to talk about.

Do you have any suggestions?

P.S I'm not trying to flirt with him just build a friendship

RomanceClass.com Advice
Undoubtedly you have other friends you talk to. What do you talk with them about? TV shows. Movies. Music. Activities you like. Teachers you like. Teachers you hate. What you want to do this weekend.

Stop treating him as a strange alien entity and treat him like any other friend you care about. Ask him about his siblings. His parents. His grandparents. His pets. His dreams. His fears.
