Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Hi, I'm 17 and the boy that I'm fond of is 20. I met him when I got hired (half a year ago) at the job I'm currently working at. He is very outgoing, quick-witted, and funny. He's always singing or making fun. He's always been one of my favorite people to work with. One day, I came in with this 22 year old guy I had been seeing and ever since then he's been joking about how I like older men. But the way he jokes is more like flirting with me. We've had a couple strange moments of others encouraging us to be together, like for instance, a customer who's a regular at our store asked me if I was his girlfriend. Then the customer and his wife told us we'd be cute together. My friend's mom (who is very stupid and oblivious) asked me if I thought he was cute while he was standing right next to me and I said yes. One time when he was joking about how I like older guys I asked him if he had a girlfriend (which he said no). Then he joked saying something like how he wished he didn't tell me that because he's older and now I would like him. We kind of lock eyes alot. I don't know. I just feel like we enjoy each other. But then sometimes he's kind of nasty to me when I'm around my best friend (who also works with us). I do not want to be the one to start by saying something just because of how awkward it could be if he doesn't like me. I also feel like if he wanted to be with me then he'd make it known, but he doesn't seem have alot of girlfriends ever so maybe he is not good with going for girls? I also know he has a low self-confidence. One time a co-worker's aunt came in with her new born baby and he ran over to ask if he could hold the baby (it was so endearing!). And later on he told that co-worker that he wished he could have kids but he knows that no one would want to be with him because he's an "asshole". And also if he had a boy, it would turn out just like him which he would hate. But if he had a girl, he would be very over-protective because he knows how guys are. I hope I described him and our situation enough to give you a good idea of how it really is. Sorry it was so long and thank you if you reply!

RomanceClass.com Advice
It's time to take a chance and ask him to go to the movies or something.

If he doesn't like you that way, you will find out. So what if it is embarrassing? Since he is shy you might have to ask him several times.

Good luck! George
