A break that's gone on for too long

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
In 2006, my ex and I both agreed to take a break, but we continued being "friends with benefits" during that time. May comes along and she shows her family an engagement ring I'm going to buy her. The following week she "doesn't like me she likes someone else". I disappeared from her life as she started dating him, and I got a girlfriend of my own. Breakups occur on both sides and we're "our shoulder to cry on", and begin talking more and more. We go out from time to time but as "just friends". Now the same thing occurs she's "in love" with another guy, and I want her back. Need some advice on what to do. When I ignore her calls and texts she gets upset, and doesn't like to not hear from me. She says she wants to be friends but says there's no feelings there any more, but we've gone back and forth for years.....I just want to have her back.

Thanks

RomanceClass.com Advice
Your best bet is to continue to be her best friend. If anything permanent is going to happen it will be based on friendship.

Do you want to marry her? If not, then you are wasting your time since marriage is what most people want in the end. If you do want to marry her then give her some time and then tell her what you want.

Perhaps if she heard how you really feel, then she would accept you.

Good luck! George
