They say its ok to be with someone 3 years older...but is it really???

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Im in the 10th grade and only 15 turning 16. My age has been a big issue in some of my relationships, but once i met this boy it all changed. Hes everything i expected in a boy but hes 18 turning 19. Usually if a boy is 18 and finds out that im 15 we stop talking. But in this case he said its ok but doesnt want me to tell anybody about us. I really like him but i dont know if our relationship can work if we keep it a secret. Should i move on? Should i just remain friends? Or should i just be with him and not tell anybody? I really really like him and he really likes me, but i just dont know????

RomanceClass.com Advice
It's not good to keep a secret about this. Your parents will lose trust in you and that is an important thing to have.

Either wait until you are sixteen, or just be good friends until then. When you are sixteen, tell your parents that you waited until you were sixteen before dating this boy. They will still not be happy but hopefully they will appreciate that you waited.

Until this is resolved, try not to fall too much in love with him... always have in the back of your mind that it just might not work out.

Good luck! George
