Is he afraid of rejection or does he like me?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Hi, there is this boy and everyone tells me he's really shy and ive asked my friend who's known him longer than i have and she told me that he has asked two girls out before and they have both rejected him. Well he looks at me a lot, and everytime i turn around i see him looking at me but when our eyes meet he looks away quickly.
We used to talk and he used to tell me that im really smart, but now it seems like he's trying to avoid me and we don't talk as much. Its always me that has to do all the talking. And everytime im not paying attention my friends tell me that he's looking at me. I like him but i dont know what to do. Sometimes i feel like he really wants to talk to me but other times i feel like he doesn't. He's not shy with his guy friends and his not as shy with other girls but with me he acts really weird and sometimes tense. And sometimes when we're finished talking he moves and sits with his friends, but doesn't really talk to them either, he just sits there. Im really confused.

RomanceClass.com Advice
I think it is a combination of three things. He is afraid of rejection, he likes you, and he is shy with you.

If you like him, help him along by flirting with him, laughing at his jokes, smiling a lot, and make him more at ease. You can even say "you know, I like you, right?"

This might draw him out of his cocoon and you can get to know him.

Good luck! George
