I like my best friend's older brother

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
My best friend has a brother who is 2 years older than me. Recently i have started to realise that im falling for him. We flirt quite a lot, but i dont know if he feels the same, or if he sees me as just his little sister's best friend. At times it has been quite intimate between us, but that was quite a while ago. How do i find out if he feels the same, without embarrassing myself if he doesnt?

When my best friend kind of asked him, he simply went red and smiled and told her to "shut up".

I really like him, and i need to know the signs if he feels the same! please help.

This is really, really common. It happened to me when I was a teenager!! Having her ask him is a really bad idea because HE probably doesn't really know how he feels about it either. He has the same worries that you do.

I have a how to on going from casual friend to boyfriend here -

you need to take it slowly without making a big deal out of it. It's easier for you than for most because you can see him without it being a big deal. Start talking to him a bit more when you're over there - start including him casually in things you do. If you make a big deal about it, he's likely to resist because it feels strange to him. But if you make it a normal thing you guys just "do", then he can realize how much he likes you and how this is a GOOD thing for you both.
