parents disagree

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
ok this is my problem.. i met my boyfriend in the internet, we became friends for a year..

im a chinese and he is not.. my parents disagree with him cause he is NOT a chinese (which i dont care about it) and he live in states,he wants to play in casino (which he has control to himself)..we have our long distance relationship for 6months right now.. we chat regular.. communicate as always.. he went here to visit me for 2 weeks.. and we are both happy seing each other being with together..he didn't meet my parents when he got here because dad said bad words to my boyfriend and my boyfriend didnt feel good aout it..i know dad shouldn't done that in the first place..

so my problem is how can i let my parents know that he is a good guy??that he shows some effort and really loves me..that nationality is not really that matter?and how can i convince my boyfriend that somehow he should try to approach my dad..(even though i know he wouldn't cause dad said bad words about him) :(

thanks in advance

RomanceClass.com Advice
You haven't known this guy long enough to do anything serious with him.

Your parents are afraid you will move to the States. Tell your parents how good he is and after a year maybe they will feel different. You are old enough to make up your own mind and you know that age, nationality, etc. are not important when two people are in love. But parents know how hard marriage is and want you to be happy and also want you to stay close to them.

It will take time before you and your parents will agree. They probably will never agree fully, so don't expect that.

Good luck! George
