Im stuck... 2 questions in one

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
Theres this girl that i like a lot, and we used to walk from our classes together, talking about anything that came up. One day i got her phone number, and we talked a lot over the phone. We still talk a lot over the phone and stuff, but theres a lot of silence when we talk, and its just awkward. Is there anything that i could say for us to become closer, and not have as much silence?

The other question is: From what i have told you in the question above this, do you think she likes me any? If so, could you give me steps so i can become one of her really good freinds? Right now, she has a boyfriend, and i dont want to mess with that any.

Please help me out. Thanks

Awkward silences are uncomfortable as you know.

The key to overcoming these silences is to really CARE about the other person. Everything they say, think, do, or plan should be of the greatest interest to you. With a good friend, you also naturally share your feelings with her. There is no magic to this.

As far as getting closer, better communication will do it. Since she has a boyfriend, you are fighting an uphill battle to establish the relationship you want. Time will do the trick. Keep trying.

Good luck! George
