Complex situation

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
Ok. At school there are these two fraternal twin girls that i have gotten to know pretty well. let's just call them X and Y. I know X better than Y since we are in some activities together. My problem is that according to people, X likes me a lot. I like her too, but as a friend and nothing more than that.

However, the other twin, Y, is the one that i'm really interested in. I don't know her as well or see her as much, but I think i'm falling victim to the cat string theory - the less you see someone the more you become interested in them. Well, i've gotten to hang out with both a couple of times, and i can tell that she (Y) really likes me too. I've talked to Y, and she says she feels the same way as I do but doesn't know if she wants a relationship because she doesn't want to hurt her sister.

My question is, how can i get a relationship with Y without X getting really upset and not talking to me/her sister anymore? I don't want anyone to become pissed off or hold grudges.

Y knows her sister better than anyone else.

Ask Y to explain things to X and see how things work out.

I think that's your best shot.

Good luck! George
