He Wants some Space

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
My boyfriend recently decided that he needed time and space to think about things and figure them out. We've been together for 3 1/2 years and I'm scared that he is just going to throw that all away. We have talked a few times since it has happened and I have realized so much about myself that I never knew. I get confused because when we talk he always hugs me and tells me how much he loves me, but then tells me he can't be with me. I love him so much what should I do?

The thing about being in a relationship is that if one of you has issues, you both are supposed to resolve them TOGETHER. If he's pulling away from you to resolve them without you, it's not saying much about his faith in you and his ability to be honest with you!!

Remind him that you are his PARTNER in this and that if he has concerns, you should talk about them together, even if the concerns involve you! If he can't tell you, who is he supposed to tell? You're the MOST important person he COULD tell about any issues.

To run away when things get tough is about the complete opposite of a good relationship solution. If you just run when it's confusing, believe me, life has much more confusing situations in store for you. Life is full of ups and downs. You need to learn to face them together and ride them out together.
