Is this considered cheating? Am I wrong for being upset?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
My boyfriend and I have been together for a year now and we have a really good realationship but recently I noticed that he kept getting text messages from one particular girl, at first I didn't care because he just said it was one of his friends and I believed him. It wasn't until I asked him what she had said and he openly admited that they were talking about things of a sexual nature. At first I thought he was just joking because he said it so bluntly but when he showed me the text messages I felt sick to my stomach. He wasn't lying and they even talked about "meeting up to have sex." He apologized and apologized and assured me that he didn't mean it he just did it for the thrill of it. I forgave him but I can't get it out of my head. IS THIS CONSIDERED CHEATING? its not like he actually did what he told her but it was still some pretty intense stuff so much so that I felt like he actually cheated on me. Now he wants me to forget it all and act as if nothing happened but now I can't help but be worried about him actually meeting someone else and doing more than just texting. I am very confused right now.
I'm glad he didn't try to hide it but I'm I wrong for being upset?

RomanceClass.com Advice
You are not wrong for being upset.

He did something that hurt, angered, and scared you very much.

My feeling is that he learned his lesson and won't do anything like that again. As you said, at least he was honest enough to admit it.

It could be considered borderline cheating and some people would say it is cheating. You will have to decide for yourself how you feel.

Good luck! George
