How long does sperm live

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I've heard that people can get pregnant w/o having intercourse. Is that true? How long does sperm live? Can you get pregnant if you have ejaculate on your hands and then wash them good? I thank you so much for your help.
Oh and one more question, how long do you have to wait after your menstrual cycle to have an acurate reading on an at home pregnancy test? Thank you again!
