Apologizing to mother of girlfriend

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
Recentlly I made a bad desicion about having sex with my girlfriend. her mom found out and I lost the girl cause her mom didn't want us together anymore. we were together for a over a year and now I feel as though I owe her mom an appology for the mistake of not using my head. I'm not sure if its a good idea or if its better if I just leave it be. If you think it is a good idea, how do you think I start the letter off? like what would be a good first sentance? please help me with any thought you have. thanks!

Our Suggestion:
I am sorry you had to break up with your girlfriend. Your idea of writing a letter sounds like a good one. I wouldn't expect it to get you and your girlfriend back together again... although you never know.

Start the letter off with a simple apology for having done what you and your girlfriend did. The rest of the letter should be from your heart. A handwritten letter would be better than typed.

Best wishes,
George
