A Poem about Unrequited Love

I once was lost and hopeless,
The land was twisted and curled.
But then a beauty the gods did create,
A new kiss among the world.

She was kind and loving to all the creatures,
I instantly fell in love
But how could I care for one so
When she was so high above

The angels disagreed,
Sent wrath and thunder my way
They told me to never talk to her
But I was compelled to disobey.

I tried and tried and failed and fell,
The gods were not on my side.
I love this beauty of heaven,
I will fight for her till I die.

Not gods or angels nor heaven or hell
Can keep me from my sweet,
I’ll fight and love and be patient and pure
And one day our hearts will meet.
