This is a GREAT updo combo because it maintains the elegance and 'special occasion' look of an updo with the romantic long hair of the ponytail across your shoulders. While updos are nice and elegant, they often loose that 'femininity' that we love so much. With the ponytail letting your hair hang loose, it's a perfect combination. For this one, get a pair of thick rubber bands and get your hair gathered up on the top back of your head. Use another rubber band about 1/2" further down the tail to create a 'stem' that stands up. Tie a matching ribbon around this section. Depending on your hair's length, you can also braid a few inches down from this point, if there is enough hair to still hang free below that point.
