Needing Someone Nearby
As much as you may love your distant partner, at some point you may simply want someone who is *near* - able to go to dinner with you, able to help with shopping, able to go to the company party. Every person has their own threshhold for how much time apart is doable. If you are reaching your own threshhold, itīs unfair to claim to your partner that everything is OK, or to expect yourself to wait another number of years until whatever the situation is resolves itself. Talk this through with your partner. Remember, it is always better to address the issue and deal with it, rather than to become more and more unhappy and refusing to talk about it. Your increasing unhappiness can easily destroy the relationship by turning it to hatred at being trapped. It can also result in you having an affair because you canīt take the loneliness.
