Needing Space from Jealousy
If your partner says they need space, then take a serious look at your jealousy levels. It is very frequent that a partner who needs space is trying to get away from a jealousy problem - but they do not want to tell you this because you'll get even more jealous and upset. In essence saying they need space is a way to get away from you without having to talk about what is wrong or deal with the painful stress of actually breaking up right now. They are trying to drift away so that they end up breaking up with you without ever having to take the responsibility for doing it.
If you are so jealous that your actions have driven your partner away, then now is the immediate time to fix it. Read all the tips on jealousy. Read the ebook and work on the tasks every day. Tell your partner that you realize it is the jealousy that is causing them to 'want space' away from you. Tell your partner that the point of a relationship is to work on issues together - not to run away from them. Tell your partner that, starting today, you will fix this jealousy issue and will prove it to them with them right there by your side.
The key of course is that you must be fully committed to this relationship and to making it work. If you claim you're going to fix the jealousy - but then are just as jealous as ever - your partner is going to run away, and for good reason.
