Ask to hangout, or text. If he's in a band, don't go to his shows. Or, if you'd really like to, have a friend take you. Walk out or talk to friends while his band plays, then act like you're having a great time and enjoying the other bands. Don't stress over him too much, it'll make things a lot harder on you. Don't let him see your pain, it'll boost his ego knowing he hurt you. Never ask to 'talk' because he'll probably think you'll want to talk about the past. Guys hate that.
