Prepare Stress Relief
It's always going to be hard to work through a re-gluing of a shattered life. Accept that. Know that it will involve some pain. Get yourself some stress relief mechanisms - go for evening walks, get a pile of comedy DVDs, get a massage ball. Whatever it is, have that stress relief system ready and on hand. You want to be able to de-stress relatively easily, so that even when things get tough, you are able to draw back, regroup, and work on things again. If you instead take out your stress on your ex-partner, things are not likely to get much better.
