Maintain Your Emotions
When your emotions are welling up like a volcano, tell yourself to calm down and think rationally about the situation. What is the reason for these welling emotions? Make sure your O.K. with yourself and talking to them will not be as uncomfortable for either of you. If you have plans at that time it's O.K. just tell them you are feeling emotional and ask if they are comfortable with you at that time. If they are great you can get closer. But, if not calmly ask to reschedule for a couple days later when your feeling more calm.
