How can he love his wife and me at the same time?

Original Visitor's Question from a 41-50 year old Female
My colleague and I are in love with each other. The problem is that he is married. We both love each other and we have a good 4 months together. Though we love each other, we know it is wrong because of our religion. And he feels guilty towards his wife when we were together but yet he really wants to be with me. We have broken up but we still love each other.
How can he love his wife and me at the same time? I know he still loves me cause he cares for me and very concerned when I was sick or have problems at work or home. He is also concerned about how I was coping since we had broken up. He wasnt that concerned to other female colleagues.

Loving two at once
Question for George..
how can a guy loving his wife and another woman be compared to a father loving his 2 children at the same time? It is of course that a father loves his 2 children as they are part of him (i.e,fathered by him). As for a man loving another woman (not the wife), he must love her so much to be able to develop such strong feelings for this woman while he has a wife..
[RomanceClass note: I know from personal experience that a woman can love two men at the same time (husband and lover). Maybe the example was not good, but the outcome is the same. George]
