His Parents Don't Like Me

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I am a great person, with goals and aspirations, i attend a university and work at a law firm, my promblem is that my boyfriends parents see me as a distraction and don't allow him to do anyhting with me. i feel like maybe they are afraid of losing him but in the process they are pushing him away. recently i have been comlaining about us not spending enough time together and when he was told he could not see me he left his house only to return with his clothes laying in the street and his father ready to kill him. i feel like with out meaning to i made him chose and now he is living with me and i feel like a horrible person. his parents are insanely controlling and we have been together for a year, he is a senior in highschool-18 years old and i am 18 a freshman in college. i dont think they are right but i think i was wrong also. i am hispanic and he is caucasion and i suspect this to be the reason they have never accepted me, what do i do i am so lost

RomanceClass.com Advice
That is really slimy of his parents to treat him this way. He is 18, he is an adult. He has the complete right to date whoever he wants to. It's time for him to start standing up for himself and not to let his parents push him around like that. It's one thing for them to say to him "you can't drink alcohol in our house." That is reasonable. It is quite UNreasonable for them to dictate who he dates.
