i had every reason to leave him, but i can't get over him.

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
- Im 15 years old, i was in a relationship with this guy for a year & 1 month, even though he had his problems sometimes (jealous issues, controlling), i loved him with all my heart, he was everything i ever wanted & needed, he was my first love. Last december he moved out of state, we tried to make it work, but he basically implied to me that he was checking out another girl, so it made me not trust him, especially with us being so far away. so i left him, but now, i'm talking to another boy, and every time i look at him, i see my ex's face, every time i kiss him, i wish it was my ex's lips, every time we hold hands, i wish it was my ex's hands & right now, im going through alot of stress, family issues , drama, school , etc. & it seems like my ex was the only one who was ever there for me through it all.. i don't know what to do, everyone tells me i should move on, but i can't fight my feelings, i cry just about every day over him & it doesnt get any easier.. what should i do, should i try to move on or shouldd i go back to him ?

RomanceClass.com Advice
What you are going through is absolutely normal. After a long term relationship, we always compare the new guy to the old one. It's not even done consciously - we just notice things that are different because our brains and bodies are quite comfortable with how things used to be.

Accept that this might continue for a while yet. You might not be ready to date anyone else right now, actually. Give yourself time to naturally move on, because it simply - unfortunately - cannot be forced. It will get better!
