how do i get him to trust me again?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I have been with my boyfriend for 6 months now, and we dated last year also. We've been having frequent arguements, not like yelling or anything. I suggested taking a break for about a week, to think about things and how we could fix things. We weren't like broken up, just getting some space. Yesterday, I hung out with my guy friend who likes me. I didn't tell my boyfriend, I didn't want him to get mad at me. Today our break is over, and everything was fine and we were getting along and I was happy. Then he told me he had a weird feeling yesterday that I was hanging out with that guy. I told him I actually was, and he was pretty hurt. He said when he was thinking about it yesterday, he told himself that he would break up with me if this happened. PLease help me keep him. He said he still really loves me and doesn't want to break up, that I did tell him eventually and that was good. I just feel like I ruined everything. I didn't cheat on him, but I guess it was kind of fishy. He has a girl friend that he used to like and it really bothers me when they hang out just in groups. If he did what I did I'd be pretty mad. But nothing happened, I don't have feeling for the other guy. I just want things back to normal. How do I prove that I'm sorry and I won't do something like this again? I can't lose him I love him so much. Please help me

RomanceClass.com Advice
All you can do is say you are sorry and move on from the whole experience. You can't 'prove' sorry-ness - just be super trustworthy going forward. I think you two are in good shape, really - he sounds very open about talking over his feelings and he seems very reasonable in general.
