Friends who have sex really aren't friends right?

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
Me and this guy have been "friends" for over 3 years. In that time he's had 2 girlfriends which he didn't even tell me about. But he keep throwing out we're friends aren't we. I'm like no we are so much more than friends. If we're not hanging out together we talk to each other on the phone every day. When I was out of state for 3 weeks he called me everyday more than once. I've been staying at his house for weeks and he keeps saying he loves having someone to come home to and when I talk about leaving he gets all blah. Everytime I try to put a hold on the sex he abides by my rules for like a week then he's back on me like he has no respect for what I've said.
I honestly don't think my heart will make it through him having another girlfriend. I feel like if we can't take this relationship to another level we shouldn't be friends.
Should I even bother throwing myself out there and ruining this weird friendship just to tell him what I think and feel? Advice
Ok, so you're living with this guy, he puts moves on you, you tell him to back off, he does for a week, then he tries again. This kind of in between nowhere land is unhealthy for both of you. Tell him you are either an exclusive couple, or cease the intimacy altogether. No good will come of the lack of boundaries you have set with each other.
