i've been in the friend zone for too long?

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
6 years ago, i met 2 girls: D and Z. theyre cousins. 1 year later, i met them again and befriended them. i began to like D. however, Z liked me so i went for Z instead. not for long, i revealed to Z that i like D so we ended but we remained friends. Z told D that i like her and D told me that she liked me too but claimed to be not ready for relationships. later, Z told me that she still liked me so i resumed dating her. for 2 years, we had been on, off, on, and finally off but still remained friends. 1 year later, Z asked me out and I rejected her at 1st but changed my mind. we continued for 2 weeks and ended but still remained friends. 1 year later, i ran into D and all my feelings for her had been restored but i didn't do anything about it. 2 weeks ago, i finally asked D out. after she learned that it's not drunk nor joking, she accepted. however, she had cancelled twice on me. Z, after learning that I asked D out, told me that D sees me as 1 of her best friends and that i might be risking more than benefits. Z also told me that D still isn't into dating yet. Last night, I called D but Z picked up so I told her to tell D that i want to just forget the whole thing. in 2 weeks, D will gone for college. so right now, i want to know what are my chances of actually getting D in the end? and what should i do to pursuit that? advice? please.

RomanceClass.com Advice
You've been going all around the pasture with Z and D for six years. My advice is to make up your mind with D and stop your activities with Z.

Start treating D like a regular friend and push for her to be your girlfriend. Meanwhile don't confuse things with Z or D will not think you are serious about her. Z should be a friend but with no thoughts of her being a girlfriend.

This whole situation is confused enough, so you will have to be very careful to be clear about your feelings for D.

Now that she is in college, she make be ready to become more serious with you.

Good luck! George
