My boyfriend's a great guy, just really mean with money. Is there any way of helping to change that?

It is unlikely that you will change him.

Perhaps he might change a little if you tell him gently that his cheapness is hurting you. Ask him if he is saving up for something and if he is suggest that he save just a little slower and spend some money on you.
