Don't I have feelings too?
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
My girlfriend and I are very serious. Coming up on ten months serious.
Anyways,
Today she called me at like four saying that she was going to the movies with her friend that she has spent little time with since we've gone off to college and two guys that I graduated with. (by the way, we went to different high schools but began dating in high school...) I was expecting to be invited to go, since they would be going near my house anyways. Well she had just called to tell me where she'd be if I wanted to talk to her.
I was very insulted by not being invited.
So later, at about 10.30pm she calls me saying that asking about coming to see me to have a make-out session. And I said no. I had already gotten ready for bed, my mother and i were baking and about to watch a movie. since the rest of my family was gone it was kinda like mommy-me time, which there hasn't been much of lately.
Not that I didn't want to kiss her, but she was being inconsiderate of me. And I had made plans, which she wanted me to drop for her.
Anyways what i'm asking is: what should I have done?

You did the right this as long as you gave her a very kind and gentle explanation. If you were cold then that wouldn't be right. I know you were upset with her, but you need to give her a break now and then.
It was nice of you to spend the evening with your mother.
