she and i have been freinds since high school [we are ages 45 &46 ]We talk on the phone regually we have alot of same intrest we share almost every thing. but i can't get her to go any further.i know that we would make eachother happy toghter i just wish i had advise just to help me understand and do the right thing

You need to discuss this with her.

Ask her if she can see going out with you sometime. Tell her it means a lot to you. Suggest a nice restaurant followed by going to the movies.

If she still won't go out with you and she won't give you the reason why then it sounds like a lost cause.

Have you tried sending her flowers?
