Does he like me or is he simply friendly and nice?

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
So, here is this guy from my class in my university. We became close friends really quickly, he is very nice and friendly. When I am sad or upset he is always there next to me to help me with my problems and make me smile.
However, recently I noticed that he started behaving in a slightly diferent way: he started paying me a lot of compliments, once when I invited him to a show I participated in, he started shouting my name from the audience. He even made up a cute nickname for me - Cinderella and he uses it all the time to address me. In general, he started behaving in a more gentle and affectionate way than before. The only thing is that it seems to me that he is somehow afraid to touch me, even on my hand. When we were friends only, he used to give me hugs and taps on my back and on my shoulders. Now he stays close to me and it looks as if he is afraid not to break me. The only thing he dares to do is to gently touch my cheek or to fix problems with my clothing, like the sleeve of my shirt, etc.
So, does he like me or if not, why is he afraid to touch me then?

RomanceClass.com Advice
It seems that he likes you a lot.

He is showing many signs; for example, being afraid to touch you is one of them. Because once he became serious it made him more nervous to touch you.

Hopefully you are giving him hugs and touching him to encourage him.

Good luck! George
