Humorous Personal Advice @ RomanceClass

What if characters from movies, books, or history wrote in for personal advice? Here are some fun questions and answers from the characters you love!

My Husband is a Bore

Question:
When I first met my husband, he seemed so exciting! He was charming and fresh and new. But it seems that once we got married, the passion faded away. Now he talks with me, but the zing is gone. We spend time together, but it's not exciting any more.

In the meantime, there's this guy I keep hearing about that seems really exciting and passionate and charming. I'm starting to dream about him. Maybe I should break up with my husband and try to find someone new?

--Marguerite Blakley

Answer:
It's very normal for relationships to calm down as you are in them for longer lengths of time. All relationships start out with that bright, fiery passion of new lust. Then, as you are together more, that fades down into the warm embers of mature love. Otherwise you burn out!

You can't just keep hopping from guy to guy trying to keep that rush of passion going. You'll fin after a while that the white flame you feel is pretty meaningless when you compare it with the honesty, understanding, trust and caring that a real long-term relationship has.

Give a lot of thought to what you DO have with your husband. You know he's there for you. He understands you, how you feel about things, what your past is, what you hope for. He supports you in your dreams. Those are all ways that real, long term love shows itself.

Relationships need work to keep going well. It might be that one or both of you has started to take the other for granted, or maybe that misunderstandings have come up between you. Sit down and talk about it. Explain how you feel, and talk with him. It could be that he doesn't realize this has happened, or that he has some sort of reason for growing distant. Only together can you find solutions and grow even closer together.
