Love is patient-You are patient with the person you love no matter what, and you would wait a lifetime for this person. Every true love relationship requires patience.
Love is kind-You are kind & gentle to the one you love no matter what, you always want the person to be loved & happy.
It does not envy-No matter what, you are never jealous of who he spends his time with or of other girls liking your man. You should feel priviledged that other girls notice your guy-He must be pretty amazing then.
It does not boast, it is not rude, it is not proud.
It is not self-seeking-Above all, if a relationship is one of true love, you will always be looking out for the best interests of him & he will do the same for you. It is not about what you personally can gain, but what you can give the other person.
Love keeps no record of wrongs-You think it's true love, the person hurts you, do you forgive them? You may not forget how they hurt you, but you will forgive them for it if you truly love them.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth-Your love is one of complete honesty, trustworthiness. You should be able to trust him & he should be able to trust you as well. If not, then your love is not genuine.
Love always protects, always hopes, always trusts, & always perseveres-Is your guy one you can count on to protect you, no matter what. Is he there for you in every situation, willing to listen & protect you from hurt?
If it's true love, you should hope for the future you have together. If you can't see yourself spending the rest of your life with him, raising children with him, having him take care of you when you're sick, him holding you when you cry, then is it really true love? I don't think so...
LOVE NEVER FAILS!! True love will never, ever fail...you make have problems, fights, difficulties, but if you really have a true love relationship, then nothing will ever be able to tear you two apart.
Don't compromise for someone that doesn't show these characteristics. Wait for someone who you want to spend the rest of your life with, someone that you don't want to live without. Someone you can't imagine yourself living without. Because TRUE LOVE will never, ever fail! And true love will only come from waiting on God to bring the perfect person into your life.
