Things not to/to say...
While listening to him, you may find things he may like and dislike. Every two people come to a point where they both have nothing to say. If it comes to this point, bring up things he mentioned he liked or bring them, up whenever. Never mention anything he dislikes. This will make him feel that you have listened to him and that you care abhout him.
