With current computer technology, there is little reason to give out your real life phone # to internet friends. There is on line instant messengering, chat rooms, and even voice chats easily available. If you are ready to take the step, be sure that you really trust this person. It might also be a good idea to get Caller ID at this point - it is a pretty inexpensive service, and can help you greatly if an internet beau turns out to be a bum.
