Be Sweet - Avoid Nagging
There is an incredible stereotype out there that all women are nags. You see it on all sorts of sitcoms. If your relationship ended up with fighting at all, he probably dumped you right into that pile of women in his mind.
Show him first hand that that is NOT what you are like. Even if he annoys you during this period of time, show patience. Be patient. The more you can show him that you are NOT a harpy nagger, the more likely he is to want to be with you.
