Don't wait too long or you will lose her forever

I met a wonderful girl and for a year we were together. Everyone said we looked great together, and figured the relationship would continue forever. We argued sometimes, but what couples don't?! Anyway, I had insecurities about myself, and felt that perhaps she didnt love me as much as I her because we fought over stupid things. I broke up with her thinking it would be for the best, that she would find a better guy that she didnt fight with, and have happiness. Unfortunately, after a month went by, I couldnt stop thinking about her constantly. I called her up to ask her for a second chance, but she said I had waited too long, that she had suffered because I broke up with her. I realize all the ways I went wrong nine years ago. I'll love her forever and be apart from her forever too... and there's no one to blame but myself. And as far as pain going away... I dont believe that's true. It hurts me as much now as it did then... just that my mind doesn't bring her up as often as it did back then. I used to think of her every single day for the first year after the breakup... every day! Now its not so often... today was probably the first in a few months or more since I thought of her at all. The pain hurts no less than it did 9 years ago tho.
