whats the point

I read so many things about making ur partner jealous here an there but whats the point? everybody hates to feel jealous, i hate to feel jealous, then why make ur partner go through something that he/she hates. Can jealousy really do something productive and make a relationship better? I always loved my gal but jealousy just keeps pushing mi away, away from wanting to love her. . .
