If you like each other & share classes, then why not just talk to him more, get to know him better and see how it goes.
You have already got things in common, so it shouldn't be too difficult. You could discuss the parties, or homework, or films, music ~ anything. Then just see how it goes.
Are you worried that it would be awkward at family get-togethers, if you found out that he wasn't interested?
I suppose it might, if you moved too fast, but if you just see how he responds to friendly chats, it should be ok.
