A year ago I asked him on a date and he laughed

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I dated a lovely man 2 years ago. It was love at first sight and thought we would be together for always. He has a very close female friend. I found it weird that he spent as much time with he did with me per week.

After 2 months I dumped him because I convinced myself he was cheating on me. I was at a low ebb in my life and had no confidence he also had issues which I didnt find out about until Id ended it with him. Had we communicated more perhaps I could have taken a better option than hurting him.

His friend has ever only been purely platonic. I now have lots of male friends so understand how opposite sex friendships can work platonically.

2 years later we are still friends and go out socialising but I really miss him. Ive dated other people since but I want my ex back.

He has no relationship experience apart from me.

A year ago I asked him on a date and he laughed and said he didnt think we could ever be more than just good friends. How can I convince him that I made a mistake and this time I know things could be for always?????

Ive since come back into his life and have also (not for that reason) but have also just split up with my boyfriend of 6 months he is really sympathetic and understanding. I want my ex back....

RomanceClass.com Advice
You have to tell him what you told me.

How is he to know how you've changed unless you have a long honest talk with him. Ask him out for dinner "as a friend." There you can say things like "I so glad I've learned about platonic relationships."

Tell him the truth about your experiences since him and tell him how you feel about him.

Good luck! George
