How do you know when you're in love ?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
How do you know when you've fallin' in love. Because I think I have but i'm confused. I'm only 15 and I don't think i could be in love.

Yesterday this guy that "I think i'm in love with" hugged my friend and i just wanted to rip her to shreds. I almost cried but i stopped myself. I don't know what to do. He has a girlfriend and stuff. So I don't even know if the feelings are mutual. Blah...I don't even know what i'm talking about. I just want to know how it feels when you're in love and what it does.

He's also graduating and I'll still be in highschool. I'm so upset but i'll get over it. I just want to know if it's love. I know i'm not making any sense but i want to know and how do i know if he feels something for me also.

Sometimes I think it's fate but i don't know. Sorry if i'm not making any sense.

Can you put the title as How do you know when you're in love or something similar to that.

RomanceClass.com Advice
At your age it is difficult to tell the difference between hormones and love.

Hormones mostly affect your body which spills over into your mind. You will get a lot of physical feelings from hormones such as shortness of breath, heart palpitations, warmth, sexual feelings... you get the idea.

Love can include all the hormones or just some of them. But love adds feelings of trust, shared honesty, caring, friendship, communication, etc. Love also makes you feel comfortable and pleasant. Love also causes the other person to be attractive both physically but also in matters of character such as humousness, intelligence, sports ability, etc.

Since you don't know this guy well, he has a girlfriend, and he is leaving for college, it is most likely that you are mostly affected by your hormones and a little bit of love.

My advice is to look around for other boys who you find attractive, are nearer your age, and that you know better.

Good luck! George
