My boyfriend and I are on a break I think.

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Hi,

My boyfriend and I are on a break I think. Well, he gave me back his ring and said that he wanted his freedom. I know he still loves me and that I still love him, but what can I do? I know I shouldn't force our relationship to continue if he doesn't want to but I am just too afraid of losing him. Space is what he needs right... is there anything I could do as a loving gf to show that I didn't mean to make him feel like I was holding on to him to make him feel tied down. I learned from my mistakes and I'm really sorry , I learned it the hard way. I guess the decision is really up to him but I just really want to know if there is still hope for another chance.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Of course you need to give him the space he asked for.

Otherwise you will drive him away. Always be there for him if he needs to talk. Be his best friend. Talk to him once a week to ask how he is, let him know that you still care and to maintain contact with him. Be cheerful, don't talk about your relationship, and limit your contact to a reasonably short time depending on what you think will make him feel his space.

Good luck! George
