Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I've been dating this guy for 9 months now. I'm also 9 months pregnant by this same guy. He wants me to marry him and I'm currently living at his parents house. Needless to say, he's in jail right now for something that he did in the past before we even met. To make a long story short. He was on the run for a year and decided to turn hiself in when we found out that I was pregnant. The only problem is, I can feel myself wanting to shut him out of my life and just not wanting to talk to him anymore. He's not going to be around for the birth of our child and that hurts more than anything. It's like a constant battle within myself, wanting to shut him out, but I keep pushing myself to see him at visitations and talking to him on the phone. I don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions or ideas ?

First off let me say that you have written a very articulate and well thought out question.
My suggestion is to have the baby, and wait three months or so before you start thinking about whether to dump your b/f or not. Right now you are not in a good condition to think unemotionally about this topic.
You should be concentrating on relaxing and seeing that your baby comes into as warm and cozy world as possible. Of course you will have to keep in contact with you b/f during this time. After waiting the three months, start to analyze how you feel and where you stand on the subject of your b/f.
