My gf's old best friend, they use to be very good friends, is now really...*itchy

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
hey, thanks for all your help from my earlier questions. they helped alot. we went out to eat and spent a couple days with just us and now were like perfect. BUT...theres still a problem that has nothing to do with my gf and i. awhile back i asked you a question similar to this one but i had a different email address then. ok, well, my gf's old best friend, they use to be very good friends, is now really...*itchy i guess you could say. she gets mad if my gf and i hang out too much or if were just spending alot of time with each other. she will make stuff like saying that we do stuff around our friends when we hang out with them that we actually do not do. and if were all just sitting around watching tv and i have my arm around her, her best friend will end up saying that we were all over each other if that night gets brought up in the future. she always says things that didnt happen and is a very inforcing person. she has pretty much all of our guy friends eating out of the palm of her hands. im guessing either they like her for some odd reason or there just scared of her or somthing. shes not really one that can be reasoned with either. she will just yell and call names and make you seem like a complete idiot if you try to prove her wrong about anything or just disagree with her. any ways, so yeah. my gf and i have gotten to the point where were actually worried about some things we do cause we dont want her getting mad, which i think is completely retarded and i could careless about how she feels about my gf and i and my gf doesnt like it one bit either but i still feel like i have to worry about it for my gf's sake because she still considers her as a friend and she doesnt really have to many friends that are girls. actually im not really entirely sure on why my gf doesnt want to stand up to her, i never really asked her but w/e the reason is im willing to not stand up to her friend because i dont want to put my gf in a bad situation. so i was just wondering, what would really be the best way to go about taking care of this? my gf not being friends with her might mean that our group of friends might split up but im kinda ok with that cause i really dont like hanging around with half of them cause there pretty much all whipped by this one girl that none of them are dating. any ways, your help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

RomanceClass.com Advice
This is a difficult problem to deal with.

Are you sure your gf has a problem with this or is it mostly you? If your gf is okay with the situation then I'd recommend that you simply ignore the other girl. If you don't let her get your goat she will stop.

If this is bothering your gf then she should take the lead and talk to her best friend about it and try to solve the problem.

If none of this works, make an appt with your school psychologist and try to get some advice from a professional.

Good luck! George
