I seem to keep bringing emotional baggage into my new relationship

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have been with my boyfriend for about a month now and we both have grown very attached to eachother. However, I have an ex that is still around and I can't seem to ditch the old for the new. I seem to keep bringing emotional baggage into my new relationship and I don't want my new boyfriend to go through my old relationship with me. I want everything to be new and I want to be happy not depressed. What do I do?

RomanceClass.com Advice
You have only been with your new boyfriend for a month now.

It is too soon for you to completely forget your ex who is still in the area. You can only do the best you can to work your way through your feelings while not burdening your new b/f too much with your past.

On the other hand, you shouldn't shut away these feeling completely from your new b/f since he can tell something is bothering you.

If you feel this is serious enough to warrant it, please consult with a therapist/couselor.

Good luck! George
