The relationship ended because of the long distance thing, and it's not really over.

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I broke up with my boyfriend of 8 months 3 weeks ago. We decided to stay friends because we get on so well, and he admitted he needs me in his life. Last week he tried to get me into bed again, and I refused because we both think sex means more than a one night stand. He comes to me for tips on how to pull girls etc, which I have discussed with him and he has now realised is unfair. The problem is that he hasnt even tried to pull, even though hes met people he says he would like to, and I think this is because he wants me instead.

We originally broke up because he is planning to go abroad at the end of this year for a while, and I am taking a year out of studies for an industrial placement, and a long-distnce relatinship seems impractical.

I still have strong feelings for him, and he has said that there are still strong ties with me. I have other offers from guys, but I dont feel anything near what I feel for my ex. I'm prepared to do anything for him to be happy, and help him be who he was meant to be, but its quite clear that he's not happy at the moment.

I just feel that the relationship ended because we didnt want to face the long distance thing, and its not really over. Theres still so much to say, so much for it to be, and we have the rest of this year, so much could happen, for the better or otherwise.

I just want him back, want to make him happy. Is this the right thing to do?

RomanceClass.com Advice
I agree with your line of reasoning.

Why break up a good thing because you anticipate trouble at the end of the year. Who knows what the future holds?

My advice is to get back with him and enjoy however much time you have left and even consider the possibility of a long distance romance.

Good luck! George
