I have never been able to push her out of my heart

OK its a surprise that i am not writing to the i want my ex back section. anyways i have been able to push my ex out of my heart finally. But there is this one girl that i always have liked. Each time i have had problems with the exs once i hang out with her i let go of them. I have tried to get with this girl but failed back in the high school days. We hugged for a long time and I felt soo good with her head on my shoulder and told her she was the most beautiful thing in the world. She wants to set me up with another girl but i want her. With my feelings for her i have no interest in anyone else. and we have had the same problems in our relationships, that the other doesnt care as much as we do. I have never been able to push her out of my heart and we consider each other best friends and that we would date a significant other just like us (me dating someone like her, her dating someone like me). My question to you is how do i handle getting closer to her and should i make that big dive for her because i know we would never fail if we were in a relationship. This would be the perfect situation for me.
