Asking Out the Grocery Guy

well i had a baby 10 months ago and haven't dated for 15 months. there is this guy who works in a grocery store and i would like to ask him out but there is always someone around like employees or customers and i am kinda shy but i really like him i go in to buy something just to see him!! what do i do?????

Good for you for getting back into the game! The trick is not just to stroll up to this guy and ask him out. That's jumping ahead several steps. You need to buid up a friendship with him first so he knows something about you before you leap into dating. So first, just get to saying hi to him, hello, how are things. Once you guys are 'casual talkers' then you increase it a bit. Ask him how he's doing, talk about your own hobbies, get to know him more. That way when you then take the step of asking him to grab coffee when he gets off work or drinks or whatever, it's more of a "yeah, we can keep talking together" and less of a "who is this strange woman??"
