I have been trying to make my friendship with this girl more than just a friendship for a while. Well we have our formal homecoming coming up next week and I asked her if she wanted to go with me and she said she was going with friends but if I asked her to dance she would not turn me down and to please ask her. Is this one step farther toward my goal or is this like just another sign of a friendship.

She has told you she likes you and told you exactly what to do.

So when you go to the dance, be sure to ask her to dance (after the first two dances). That way you two won't be so nervous. Then give her a chance to go back to her friends for a while. Then ask her to dance again.

Don't be shy, she will love being asked to dance while some of her friends will have nobody asking them.

Have a good time. That is one thing girls like is a boy who enjoys having fun and especially with her. So smile a lot and get her to smile too.
